Purpose

Really satisfying day just at home. I had a long list of things I wanted to do and happily flitted between them in the morning, making up beds, setting up the laptop, doing laundry, phoning various services and clearing email. I’d had to leap out of bed when the replacement meter people arrived at bang on 8am having said they’d be here ‘sometime between 8am and 1pm’ but, like the smart meter people who’d called this lot of specialists in, they took one look at the wires and ancient arrangement I have and said they’d need to get surveyors in…..at this rate they’re going to suggest rebuilding the tenement!
Later on had the delivery of my new mattress and got it all set up once it had unfurled slowly over a few hours.
I finally (I hope!) cracked the Jenga puzzle of various committee membership moves…very satisfying, and started on the phone calls to speak to everyone involved. Still got more thinking, writing and sorting to do but I’ve enjoyed myself today and feel like I’ve done a lot. Finished off the last of the Gleneagles doggy bag with the mince pie on my new plate!
Spent the evening ironing….cleared a huge pile, but as always surfed around trying to remember recommendations of what to watch before settling on the recent Karen Pirie series which was slow but good. Other recommendations welcome for future nights!
