New bathroom finishing touches

Our builder called in this morning to finish our bathroom upgrade. His very last job was to fit the three 'cover caps', as seen in my blip (me neither...).

With everything now in place, we feel more confident about buying other equipment for the bathroom. So, this afternoon, Mr hazelh and I made some essential purchases in TK Maxx and John Lewis: a toilet roll holder, a lavatory brush, and a shower squeegee. I also picked up a penguin soft toy for Kate (to take to her when I next visit her in hospital on Thursday), and a wee birthday present for Paddy.

This morning was mainly taken up with arguing over finishing our Christmas newsletter. The last stages of this job are often rather stressful, but it has been especially so this year. This is largely due to Mr hazelh the ambition of our production. My next task in terms of Christmas prep is to write our cards.

The main news of the day, however, is medical. Mr hazelh's father, who has not been in very good health for some time, suffered a stroke overnight, is very poorly in hospital in Nottingham, and is not expected to recover.
