Across the boating lake

It’s one of those days where I have to drag myself out of bed - last night’s tiredness remaining after my usual disturbed sleep. Still, I manage a morning of domestic tasks, and by the afternoon feel ready for a walk.

It’s been bright and sunny all day,  but there seems an inevitability about the dark clouds that gather to the west each afternoon. Still, they add a drama to the sky, even if they’re not the sort of clouds to give a perfect winter sunset.

There’s a gap in the clouds that’s bathing Llandudno in gorgeous winter sunlight, low and golden, but as we reach West Shore the sun is sinking back behind the clouds. I just manage to capture the golden glow across the boating lake, a lone deserted  bench silhouetted against the light as wrapped-up walkers on the promenade make the most of the final rays of daylight.
