The boys had the day off school today so we decided to make the most of the opportunity and had the day (and overnight) with my parents. A change of scene was in order for everyone, not least me as I have been suffering from a bit of cabin fever in the past few weeks.

It was great to get away, to see my parents, to have some lovely food cooked for us and to increase the adult to child ratio. The boys built dens, played football, designed flags, took the littlest one on his first and second bus journeys and generally enjoyed the attention. My lovely husband got a full days work in,without the normal round of school runs and cooking duties and the little one and I, well we had company and that's about all that we need.

And, we left the car behind and decided to let the train take the strain, enjoying peace and quiet and incredible views of the east coast in the early evening sunshine.
