Hanging On
We're all feeling just a little better today. Slow progress but gives hope that it won't be an extended period of illness. After a morning in bed, not always fully conscious, we had a video call with a manager from one of the Birmingham agencies involved in Ruth's support. A plan being formed. Meg's had another trip to the ball field and I brought Jamie back to mine and fed us all a simple chicken, tomato, pasta meal. An early night all round awaits.
While the achimenes are all now asleep for the winter, dormant rhizomes awaiting replanting next year, the Kohleria have a less pronounced rest period and several still have flowers. This one I grow under the name 'Jester' - it's definitely a form of hybrid of Kohleria hirsuta, the hairs on the flowers a diagnostic feature.
