Hearts of Stone
I started writing a poem about rocks and stones today and put my collection on my little coffee table to look at more closely.
I then realised how little I knew about them so started Googling and got so carried away I didn’t get much further with my poem! However, now I do know a bit about geology!
The different stones and rocks are very satisfying to hold in the hand, heavy and solid and each with a history I can only guess at.
My favourite one to hold is the big one bottom right, it is black, greyish-white and sparkly. According to Google it is an igneous rock formed by intense heat and the cooling down of magma underground.
I hope some geologists out their will educate me ;-).
Frank had choir this afternoon and Tonya and Yurii were upstairs studying their English so I made pizza for tea.
Spoke to Sue (sister) this afternoon for quite a while and also to Marc for a bit.
All in all a pleasant day, but I didn’t finish the poem!
Goodnight :-)X
