Chaenomeles japonica

While lots of blips feature late flowering plants this one is distinctly early. There are just 5 blooms on this hedge, normally they’d hang on until January before even thinking about flowering, but not in this strange year.
I love the intense colour of chaenomeles, definitely one of winter’s high spots.
