Equipment

For the first time, I didn't take a 'real' camera with me on holiday, but only relied on a smartphone. Looking back, it was a very positive experience, especially with India as a travel destination. A smartphone is totally inconspicuous, the pictures are more than good enough for personal use and in everyday travel it has simplified a lot. Probably more people from India took selfies with us than I took pictures of Indian people. 

I didn't have to worry about a lot of things because they just run smoothly in the background. Geographical information is stored with the pictures, the backup to iCloud was automatic and problem-free thanks to good internet in the hotels. Some of the equipment I didn't use at all, but that wasn't clear beforehand.
