The Goring Gap
Forty or so years ago the future Mrs L and I came through here when we walked the 87 mile Ridgeway National Trail. I remember it being a very hot day when we arrived here. Today it was a more leisurely, cold, damp and grey six mile circular with the spaniel going via Lardon Chase which provides a good vantage point. The Goring Gap is a narrow valley between the Chilterns and the Berkshire Downs. It is occupied by the twin villages of Goring and Streatley on either side of the river Thames.
