Underway

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

It has been raining steadily from the moment I woke up.

"What a miserable day," said Caro. Although as I reminded her, this just means a justification to stay on the couch, stay dry and cuddle kittens.

Jasper (pictured above) helped to reinforce my point.

However, I was not entirely idle. I was busy digging around in our big box of important documents so that I could submit my application to become a citizen of Aotearoa.

I also need an identity referee. I asked Shenée because I knew it would mean a lot to her. And to me as well. She is my little sister*.

I've also decided I'd like to take the affirmation of allegiance in Te Reo and have asked my lovely Te Reo teachers at work (Christine and Akasha) to help me learn the pronunciation in my final week at Kainga Ora.

Sadly, it is not a swift process. It will probably be at least six months. But finally the process is underway. You can expect a blip about the actual ceremony in about July of next year.

When Shenée found out how long it takes she messaged me:

HER: I have twelve months to blackmail you. I said MORE ALMOND CROISSANTS.
ME: I wonder if it's too late to ask Corrie.
HER: B*tch please. That would just cost you in waffles.

S.

* In that she is quite bossy and squeals a lot. But also I love her.
