A shelf of mussel shells!

Yesterday afternoon Terry and I headed down to St. Peter's - about 1 1/2 hours away, for an overnight gettaway, to celebrate his birthday (which was the 23rd!).   We stayed at this lovely little Inn in town, and had a fabulous dinner not far from there.   I had delicious lobster ravioli.... a first for me, it was awesome.

After breakfast this morning we took a walk along the canal - very interesting indeed.   But by far the weirdest thing was this - all along the sides of the canal were planks of wood....perhaps to keep the boards from hitting the rocks....and this was the only one with all these mussel shells on it!   Too weird but kinda cool too.   Another walk along the coastal trail....it was a bit chilly - but good to get some exercise after all the food we had eaten!!

We drove home the long way which was very scenic and so enjoyable.
