Kingfisher Day

I seem to be lucky enough to see Kingfishers once a week at the moment.  This morning I had the good fortune to take this shot of a male in flight.  I could have done with a longer lens but my teleconverter is back with Nikon being repaired after I carelessly had a little accident with it the other day.

The other option would be for me to to be slightly closer to the bird, but with the river very high and in full spate that would almost certainly have involved me drowning...
