Dog or deer?

This stag suddenly appeared on a nearby hill recently, scared me the first time I came around the corner and saw it, afterall it is life size! It turns out there's a new hundehotel (dog kennels) opened and it's called 'deer place' (rough literal translation) hence the deer. Part of me does wonder if they had this huge white deer statue knocking about and that gave them the idea for the name...

Today has been a bank holiday here, ChristiHimmelfahrt or Ascension Day, it's also Father's Day, but not like in the U.K., here it's used as an excuse for the menfolk to get together for a walk with beer, this isn't a walk from pub to pub, oh no, this is a walk with a kiddies wagon in tow that is laden down with beers, probably a good job that for many tomorrow is a bridging day (a day off between a bank holiday and a weekend, kind of like a bank holiday but the shops will be open and normal services will resume).
