Pocket compact.
I bought a new compact camera, using it to take its first blip, on 17th April last year. However, the truth is that although it's a super quality camera with a dSLR sized sensor, it has not proved to be my carry everywhere camera. I've hardly used it, preferring my little Leica. Nevertheless, my brand loyalty remains with my favourite Japanese manufacturer.
Yesterday, as I mentioned in my blip, we were out shopping and one of the shops we visited was a national electrical/computer store. Here I saw the smallest compact camera that I would consider buying. After we had got home last night I checked out its specification. It is small enough to fit in the tiniest pocket, it has a 12x zoom and will focus on a subject only a few centimetres from the front of its lens. Pictures taken by it which I viewed online seemed to be pin-sharp.
I returned to the shop this morning and bought it. Here it is with an SD card alongside for size comparison.
