I'm not much into ball sports, but I have a number of friends for whom the ongoing controversies at the FIFA thing are causing disquiet. Not merely the red card of forbidden sexual preference, but the potentially deadly impact of being pagan in the country too. 

I don't know how exercised I feel about there being parts of the planet where I might not choose to go. Respect goes both ways, and a guest is generally beholden to the ways of the host. It was a mistaken choice of venue, or maybe a vain attempt to promote change, or a corrupt naive acceptance of an offer too good to turn down...

Anyway, on a day where the rain held sway throughout the day, a small part of it offered a frame filling gesture of support. Weather is always inclusive...
