diamonds in the desert

A long soaking rain is such a rare commodity in the high desert. The usual pattern is for quick afternoon thunderstorms during the summer and a few big dumps of snow in the winter. And in both cases the moisture evaporates quickly. Unfortunately, we have not even had that luxury in the last few years - we are in a severe drought.
So the lovely wet snow last week, and the wonderful lingering showers these past two days are as precious as diamonds.
On another note, wouldn't this image make a great jigsaw puzzle?!
