Walk on the beach

We woke to blue sky and watched the TV forecast warning of unpleasant things to come so we decided to leave early for a visit to the coast before the rain arrived. At Saltburn by the sea we walked along the beach in the bracing wind taking photos of sea, sand. pebbles, rocks and birds and the wonderful water-operated cliff railway. Views through, along and from the pier, and along the cliffs, left us with so much choice. We decided on this one that we think goes a some way to capturing the day and the place. The beautiful buildings overlooking the sea testify to the age of prosperity when the cliff railway was built 138 years ago. Glad we went - it's raining now!
