Golden Toes

... on the statue of San Pedro de Alcántara, the patron saint of Extremadura (the Spanish province next to us), in the town of Cáceres (the town of Kingslanding in Game of Thrones, not that I've ever watched that). The toes are the result of folk touching and kissing the saint's feet. It's also the location for Atrio, the one Michelin starred restaurant that I'd love to visit.

Quick, rainy walk round the town, and then off to Ponte de Sor, to spend two hours each with two Brazilian families, listening...

Gratefuls:
- the unexpected bonus of a look round "yet another European town", as our son would put it  
- beautiful scenery; Mike said it reminded him of Derbyshire
- getting safely home
