Sitting at YSP

After a 10 mile morning canal run it was time to get out the house (and away from DIY!) and enjoy the fine bank holiday weather. We had decided to try Yorkshire Sculpture Park having never visited the place before. Although the car park was full and we were told it was closed, we parked our car nearby in the hope we wouldn't get a ticket and carried all our picnic stuff in on foot.

It was great to sit in the sun and have a picnic and enjoy the amazing sculptures that are part of the park. This particular one is called 'Sitting' by Sophie Ryder and was installed in 2007. I think it aptly summed up our day!

PS. We didn't get a parking ticket either so lucked out not having to pay the £7.50 car parking fee.
