Why did the chicken cross the road?*

My German class wanted to do breakfast before Christmas break and this was the closest date they could all do, retired people go on holiday all the time. They were very happy to hear that they’d dodged the grammar bullet of irregular verbs, until next week anyway (can you hear the evil laugh?)

* our street has a Whatsapp group, where people report burgleries, poisonings and now chickens on the road…apparently it was new to the peep and hadn’t learnt where home was…
