Room With A View?

Arrived safely in Krakow and found this was was to be my view for a few days.

It may not be the best view but the interior was new and comfortable.
The old Jewish quarter where we were staying was obviously emptied duing the war and the rightful owners (or their decendants) still have a year or two to reclaim the buildings so the present occupiers are reluctant to spend money on the structure in case it is taken off them.

May is Photomonth in Krakow (which is why we were there) with exhibitions being held in museums, ouside and in small cafe/bars.

The cafe culture is very strong and you find very small, dimmly lit places as well as the large and opulant such as Noworolski?s which dates from 1910. It is within the Cloth Hall in the center of the main square.

The square is the 2nd largest and best preserved medieval square in Europe.
The Cloth Hall has been there for 700 years. It was burnt down and rebuilt in 1555 so it has been there a wee while......as has St. Mary's Church, which despite its modern looks has been there since 1365 with its modern (lit) crown dating from 1666.

There is always some form of entertainment going on like the fire spinners.

Architecture is verycolourful and ornate.
