Why is it that small cuts on elbows bleed so much!

Had a great day riding the Dyfi Enduro a very challenging 60km loop starting from Machynlleth with 500 odd other mountain bikers (not to mention a few legends on Unicycles!). Loads of climbing, loose steep rocky shale descents, a blues band and cheerleaders!

I had a slight off going down a steep loose section, didn't hurt myself (landed on my head) but cut my elbow, which looked a whole lot more impressive before I cleaned it up!

Next weekend is the big Solo event. Feeling good for it. Just need to buy a new rear derailleur for my bike and I'll be set. The current one had a battle with a tree root and lost. Spectacularly.
