NOT what I'd originally planned to blip!
Tomorrow I'm planning on using a potato to demonstrate how map contour lines work. Basically, you pretend it's a hill, draw several lines round its 'contours' with a marker pen and then when you look at it from above you can see how the lines would look on a flat map. I wasn't happy about the one I prepared yesterday so I just went in to our village greengrocer's and asked if they had any really knobbly potatoes.....
Probably not a good idea to use this one with a class of hyper Year 7s but I might see if the Biology Department would like it....
