I am told by one of the security staff that the swing bridge in Media City used to open quite regularly when the Navy passed up and down the canal, but now they no longer do that the bridge rarely if ever gets opened.

This ship was safely on the other side of the lock a little closer to the Liverpool end and showed no sign of coming through and requiring the bridge to be opened.
