Second-time-around

Almost a sunset on a bad day

This shows the trees above Tesco car park. I raised the camera so as not to see the cars!  You might see a bit of red in the distance - that's the petrol station sign.

Yesterday when I woke up there was no power in the house.  I don't have gas, so the house was cold.  And my burglar alarm was going off!  I know how to re-trip the trip switch on the fuse box in the garage.  To get to it I had to fight through the gale force wind and rain.  To cut a long story short the trip switch reset didn't fix it.  After a lot of texts being exchanged with my handyman, we isolated one room with its trip switch and got electricity everywhere else.  We thought it would just be a case of testing everything in one room to see what was causing it.  But there wasn't time yesterday so I had a cold night in the bedroom last night, as that was where the fault seemed to be.  But today the electricity went off again, for no apparent reason, just as I was on my way out.  The only thing turned on in the house was the fridge.  Every time it goes off it triggers the burglar alarm.  We can't find out how to completely disable the alarm.

Added to that I had to take my cat to the vet. She had to have a blood test, which revealed her kidneys and other bits were OK, but she had lumps inside.  It's either constipation or cancer.  She is 12.  I have to give her drugs and take her back on Thursday.  The blood test cost £117.  I hate it when cats are ill - its so hard to help them.

I now have no electricity in half the house, and no plan as to how to fix it. I am relying on my handyman but he can't come immediately.  He gave me a lot of help by text though.

So today was not a good day.
