Street art - from the métro
Line 6 is one of my favourite metro lines since it is above ground for long distances, then plunges back underground, a bit like a rollercoaster. I took it part of the way to the BnF today and snapped this. It shows two large murals - Inti's "La Madre secular 2" (2016) and Conor Harrington's "Etreinte et Lutte" (2017). Both use classical images and reframe them in a modern context. Harrington wrote that he leaves it up to the viewer to decide if they are seeing a conflict between the two men or an embrace. Which do you see?
I was glad to meet C for coffee at the BnF this morning. J went on a 40km bike ride, despite strong winds.
