I made a later than usual decision...

... to visit Harlow Carr Gardens this morning. This was after hearing the weather forecast for the rest of the week and the probability of some really wet conditions to come.

As usual, I headed first to the bird hide, in case it might get busy. This woodpecker was already in action and seemed happy to carry on hammering away whilst I fired the shutter for a few minutes. 

My extra was taken as I made my way out of the gardens - I couldn't decide whether I was observing breakfast or lunch but, again, my subject appeared totally undisturbed by my camera.
