Haere Ra Goodbye
It all got real today with a formal funeral in Knox Church. I was proud to see the photo book I made to catalogue his pottery collection on display as we walked into the church. He left the church accompanied by a piper and side drum playing Highland Cathedral. (extra) The church is on a busy intersection which did rather distract. My brother in laws family came out to New Zealand from the Isle of Lewis. Afterwards I spoke to people who loved that touch and we all wanted to find some Scottish heritage so we could have a piper at our funerals.
Later my great niece had made her home available for family to gather at and that was a wonderful gesture where we could reconnect and relax.
