Leaving

Two of our friends had travelled up sharing a car and left early morning. But L had travelled up by train as she has recently had a cataract op. Late morning J went to the holiday park and met her at the reception (and had a really good cappuccino , the first in getting on for three years). After a good chat J took her to Silverdale Station to catch the 12.38am train. I also arrived to say goodbye.

The station isn’t in Silverdale, but just around the corner from the visitor centre at RSPB Leighton Moss. The reserve has amazingly good public transport connections. Passengers get off with binoculars and cameras with big lenses. The train L caught connects Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport. L was going as far as Lancaster - two changes to Prestatyn where she had left her car.
