Final day of Kendal Mountain Festival, and my final evening was at the Open Water Swimming Session.  There were two particularly interesting talks, one by the young woman who recently swam from Land's End to John o' Groats (which she seemed to find relatively easy), and the other by a local young man who free dives in our lakes to a) retrieve phones etc that people have dropped (up to 20 per day in the summer!) and b) to highlight the amount of litter that's down below, especially in Windermere.
