Hale Lighthouse

Saturday 19th November 2022

After a long week, and not getting out much last week either, it was lovely to be out with the walking group today. I hadn't had time to do a recce but I used one we'd done before, which I knew was straight forward. We parked in Hale village and walked out to the lighthouse and along the bank of the Mersey up to the end of the airport runway, then back through the village. We had a lovely meal at the Childe of Hale pub, named after the famous "giant of Hale", John Middleton (1578 - 1623), who was allegedly 9ft 3inch tall. There's a statue of him in the extras, along with a panoramic view.

I have back blipped yesterday.
