We went to a Christmas show this afternoon in our local theatre.  As we were about to leave there was an almighty clap of thunder right overhead -  It was so loud I thought it was a gunshot - and then torrential rain.  Needless to say, nobody was willing to leave the theatre until the rain stopped. Fortunately it didn't last long although we have had heavy rain showers off and on all evening.
