Jack’s First 2022 Visit

It was tough getting up this morning. The outdoor temp was 29° F. We had breakfast and hubby went to get a hair cut. I walked outside to see how cold it felt and saw the frost glistening on the grass and shrubs. Voila-blip complete. Hubby got out the ironing board and I began the task. River arrived when I was half finished. We let him help us set up the train tracks and village and I think that will be the plan from now on. He did a great job. He gets more comfy with the kitties during each visit. I simply love having him here. Lauren and River had a late lunch here and then I worked on more of my to do list. Hubby swept up the leaves with the mower bag. It was really cold out there. But not as cold and nasty as the mess my sister and BIL are encountering on their way to the farm. It has been snowing for most of their trip, white out conditions at times. It was 27° F where they were sitting at an accident 5 miles from Cameron. A truck almost hit them but managed to straighten up before sliding down the embankment backwards. WV does not salt their roads, at least not where my sister’s farm is. Thank you Lord for inspiring us to wait until Sunday. We will have my BIL’s new (to him) John Deere in a trailer behind our SUV. But I understand Buffalo NY might get 6’ of snow today. Yikes! Dinner is cooking and my jobs for today are complete. Hubby is giving me another e-bike for Christmas. It arrived today. The first one is simply too big for me. Our BIL has it on his truck with its pull behind cart. Hubby is giving it to our BIL to ride on WV trails not wide enough for ATV’s. Stay safe, warm and healthy folks. Thanks for stopping by. “It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp (almost) winter air is full of it.” - John Burroughs
