Strelitzia flower

The wind blew up this afternoon and we were wary of a large palm frond that was hanging from a tree behind where we sit when we visit the pool. We still manage d a swim but didn’t linger.
My entry today for flower Friday is the strelitzia flower, common in the Canaries. I brought some flowers home the very first time we visited the Canaries as I was rather fascinated by the unusual flowers.
