Winter at last?
There’s a frost burning off in bright winter sunshine. While I pick the last of the tomatoes (before the real freeze knackered them) the sheep escape from their paddock and start munching the cabbages. I get them back into their prison and Nick and I make efforts to prevent them escaping again.
After presenting to BAs at Barclays, it’s time to do the dishes, pack my bag, and head for Edinburgh. I meet Kerry in The Amber Rose where there’s some drama at the table next to us - involving wine, broken glass, and an argument about who was to blame.
From there to Chaophraya for some Thai food and Singha beer. And then to Waverley for the Caledonian sleeper. On the platform three police tackle an aggressive drunk. And then Kerry realised she’s left her phone at the restaurant. Too late. We’ll have to get it when we return.
We have a nightcap in the lounge carriage before retiring to our super compact twin room. Where there is no water supply. The carriage’s toilet is also out of action due to the lack of water. Not exactly luxurious - but we do have water bottles.
