Isle Of Skye - day 3
Today a visit to the Old Man Of Storr was on the agenda.
At sunrise that is.
That meant waking up at 05.00 hours, and starting the climb around 06:20 hours while it still was very dark. It was a firm walk up, but we made it in 75 minutes. The views were breathtaking. Unfortunately the sun didn't play along the way we hoped. A layer of clouds kept on blocking it on its way up.
Once we were convinced that direct sunlight on the Old Man wasn't meant to be today, we started our way down again.
At 10:00 am we were back at the car where we enjoyed a nice coffee and tea, with a few Digestives. (Nestlé, if you're watching..... get in touch.)
We went on north to Loch Langaig, but that wasn't a huge success because it started raining when we arrived. We turned, and via COOP in Portree we arrived at our cottage. No electricity here. How come? It turned out that a planned power outage (until 16:00) was the cause of that.
In the afternoon we stayed close to our cottage and drove only 4 kilometers, to beautiful waterfalls of the river Allt Dearg Mor with the Cuillins in the background.
Herman cooked a nice dinner for us all, and after that we went into the post processing process.
Another great day is coming to an end.
Of course my mind drifted of at some points to exactly one year ago today. It was good to feel dad was with me all day, we climbed the Storr together.
