New Friends

When your new friends have been thundering around their field, are much larger than you are and you happen lack a lot of courage, initial greetings are done through the highest part of the fence line.

The steers were put into the field on Sunday evening. I had some wonderful shots of them bucking and racing as they found the joy of a field for the first time. They had never seen a fence so there were quite a few loud crashes as they galloped around finding their new boundaries. Although Cocoa has always had contact with farm animals the energy in these is making him extra cautious. The young steers haven't met dogs before, so the feeling is mutual.

Sniffing each other along this tract of fence they are slowly bonding. As the noses make contact, both dwarf and giant jump a pace back in surprise. It's an amusing scene and harms neither of them. There are about 25 new friends to get to know so, this scene will repeat itself many times over for the next few days!
