Nifty Fifty
Now the photographers may be thinking camera lenses here, however, the nifty fifty is me. Fifty today. And, nifty'ish, anyway with those new walking poles (they are a boon, doffy, I would recommend.)
We went into St Ives and saw the Barbara Hepworth museum. We listened to a talk which was full of very interesting facts about Barbara. A couple of the sculptures both Mr H and I thought were marble/stone, but they turned out to be wood. She worked 'true to the materials' and used the grain of the wood, for example, to enhance the work in progress.
We had lunch in a little cafe and then went on to Trencrom Hill. Although the weather had been raining earlier, the sun was out and a bit of a stiff wind helped blow us up and down the hill.
'Chef' turned up with our evening meal, (as it was such a special occasion we had the holiday letting company 'chef' deliver us a dinner.) Chef wasn't wearing one of those big cheffy hats, slightly disappointing, but would have blown off in the wind. Food verrrrrry yummy. We took the sparkling vino collapso out to take its photograph with the view for the blip, however, it was a bit dangerous, we feared we would lose the wine in the wind.
The picture is looking up to the top of Trencrom Hill. It was such a dramatic skyline. I feel very lucky indeed to receive all my lovely cards and presents and to be able to be here in Cornwall to celebrate. Cheers all, here's to the next fifty.......
Still no wifi, so I will still be keeping quiet. Hope to catch up with you all soon. Slightly tipsy now, anyway, rambling....
