In which I engineer a solution

Last night I had to remove the plate that the locking mechanism went into as I could no longer lock my porch door due to movement. When I finally prised it out the door rattled about in the massive new hole. So, bravely, I went to B&Q, sourced some plates and bodged this up. Now the door locks fairly securely.

There's a chance that I wouldn't get a design award for this but in my little world, it's a triumph.
