Signs of New Life!

Just as we're headed into the coldest, rainiest, darkest months of the year, there are plants that are about to bloom. This is Mahonia...'Winter Sun' I believe. The blossoms are starting to emerge. These gorgeous creatures will be in full bloom in a month or so, I expect. Although this is a new plant to me, planted in my low-irrigation new front garden. It's very happy growing in clay soil, which is very well drained, with minimal water. Yay!
