Clouds over the Pennines

10:00 am and the first sign of the sun.

The hedge in the foreground was alive with birds Nuthatch, Bullfinches at the start to the right then 6 or 7 Blackbirds with a Mistle Thrush.  Jackdaws arrived and I noticed some Woodpigeon but then 40 or more Redwing dropped out of the sky to feed on the various berries.

Walking back through the park a Sparrowhawk was chasing a Blackbird at head height, they passed me about 10 feet away.

We set off for a drive over the hills before lunch thinking it was clearing but it wasn’t we turned back and went to Lymefield Garden Centre for food purchases in their ‘farm’ shop.

We watched Dalziel and Pascoe episode, Sins of the Fathers with James Bolam as Father Tibbins !

4:30 dusk walk to Old Glossop I saw a Tawny Owl cross the road ahead of me
