Jasper's Big Day
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
The weather this week has been absolutely beautiful. Those mornings when you wake up and can tell from the sky that soon the cool of dawn will gave way to blue skies and bright sunshine.
The birds are still out in force and one or two of them made it into the house today, despite my best efforts. But there have been no major poop incidents and for that I am grateful.
Jasper luxuriated in the good weather by slurping around the garden and inside the house going from nap to nap. Here you see him recovering from a hard day of sleeping wherever he likes.
As for me, it has not been an arduous day. I did attend a 90 minute meeting at one point, but it was chaired by Ellie and rather productive. I didn't mind too much.
I did have to complete a FIFTY-NINE question form on health and safety at work for Kiwibank though. Fortunately it was composed of questions like this:
The purpose of a workstation assessment is to:
a) Ensure your workstation is conducive to good health.
b) Waste your time and annoy your co-workers.
c) Give HR something to do in their "work".
d) Do anything for love, but not that.
So I didn't really have to read all the pages upon pages of bullshit too carefully. The questions were effing obvious unless you actually LIKE causing accidents and bullying people in the workplace*.
Also, I just got a lovely message from Briar:
BRIAR: OMG the interview prep we did on Friday SAVED ME in that interview.
ME: Did you mention the cat memes?
BRIAR: No, but genuinely every question you asked came up. Except for the one about "Hamilton".**
This makes me happy. In fact, on the back of Ellie's 90 minute meeting today, it came up that she'll require a workshop to drive out detailed requirements. I'll probably not be around when it takes place, so I recommended that she tries to borrow Briar.
I like it when I can make good things happen for good people. I guess I had a big day too.
S.
p.s. As people who love books, you may enjoy Ellie's story for today.
* So tough sh*t if Gordon Ramsay ever wants a job at Kiwibank.
** I threw in the question, "Which is better, Hamilton or Wicked?" just to keep her on her toes.
