I’ve spent far too much time today attached to my iPad and the internet. I know what I want but can’t find it. M&S, John Lewis, Next, Argos, Dunelm . . . . I’ve tried them all and more. Right colour, wrong size or right size but wrong colour.

I did make one purchase, a Christmas treat for myself from a Cumbrian company. When the order was going through it said the bank wanted verification. I was expecting a text with a number to type in but it didn’t come. Then I read the instructions and it said open your app to approve transaction. So I did and it worked.

After lunch I drove to the local garden centre. It seemed that hundreds of others had the same idea. It was too busy for me inside so I got a few photos and went back home.
