Holocaust Memorial, Berlin

I reckon every national politician in the World would benefit from spending a few days in Berlin before taking up office. The lessons of the economic and political conditions that allowed the Nazis to win power cannot be forgotten. The slow encroachment of nazism must be guarded against and the more we can recognise the early signs the better chance we have of avoiding another holocaust.

Its hard to imagine the scale of death and destruction that was unleashed on the World by Hitler, but standing amongst the giant stones of the Holocaust Memorial provides a powerful message we must not be forget.
