Fallen leaves

After a gift of a day yesterday, we were back to rain and wind today, but still not cold. I decided to visit two elderly friends who live along the road from us and whom I had not seen for some time. While walking briskly to keep my soaking to a minimum I came across this flooded ditch with a beautiful layer of coppery leaves. I quickly snapped the scene, just in case I didn’t come across another possible blip later in the afternoon. Good thing I did as there was a distinct lack of daylight by four o’clock when I returned home to take Bertie for his afternoon constitutional.
