Bellowhead at full blast

To the Royal Albert Hall tonight to see the wonderful Bellowhead on their reunion tour. It's music rooted in the folk tradition played by brilliant musicians bursting with energy and led by the great John Boden and John Spiers. The whole audience was on its feet jigging along to the shanties and dance tunes that they rounded off the concert with. They also gave a very moving tribute to their other founding member, Paul Sartin, who died suddenly and unexpectedly recently aged just 51. They played a recording of a beautiful ballad sung solo by him, accompanied it on their instruments and sang the choruses. A great night richly enjoyed by a packed house.
