Lions in the Bush
Following me around as I went up the Land looking for wild asparagus (didn't find any). We woke up to a very light rain, and João was out looking for some this morning.
Mike has an interesting Blip about another wild creature. He hadn't taken any photos, so was looking through a stash of old ones, which took us a fair while this evening, and was quite nostalgic.
Gratefuls:
- painkillers; can't believe how much pain I'm still in, but took one now, so will hopefully sleep better
- the weather app says we've had 0mm of rain, but we definitely saw it landing for a while, and more predicted...
- Olive Kitteridge, by Elizabeth Strout, a novel made up of thirteen short story-like chapters, all with Olive in them somewhere, all set in a small town in Maine; Hilary Mantel again: "Writing of this quality comes from a commitment to listening, from a perfect attunement to the human condition, from an attention to reality so exact that it goes beyond a skill and becomes a virtue.” One of the few books I've read that I plan to read again. Bought in Seville, finished it last night.
