Squawk!
The Burrells kept a family bird,
A colourful parrot which liked being heard
With fluffy feathers and pointy beak
This pet parrot - it could speak.
The parrot used to flap and cry
'Hello' to the maids walking by.
The male servants tried to make it talk
but for them the bird would only squawk!
Coffee in the Burrell Museum this morning and then a wander round the shop where I bought a couple of Christmas presents for our nieces.
A walk round some of the ground floor exhibits and decided to blip these two rather handsome parrots who were keeping quite quiet this morning.
They were made of Chinese Porcelain in the late 17th early 18th centuries ... the time of the Qing Dynasty.
