Our turn…

…for a flood. We had heavy rain overnight and the rivers came up quickly. Our daughter was isolated in her village and schools were closed. We rode down to view the water level at 9am and I walked back this evening to see how it looked almost a meter higher. The roads are closed (main highway through the city) so all those people who live in the eastern suburbs and working in the CBD can’t get home tonight. There will be a few sleep in their cars tonight.

We got off better than many who have been evacuated by helicopter or having the water wash away all their possessions.   Our levy is protecting us at the moment.
