To Churchill, MB / Dog Sledding

On a two and a half hour flight from Winnipeg to Churchill, MB, the views from my window were mostly of Tundra, frozen lakes and waterways. There were many interesting 'abstract' images that I'll share later. Our activity this afternoon was a visit to 'Big Dog' Dave Daley and his sled dogs. After listening to Dave, a Metis man and long-time resident of Churchill, talk about the Native People of the area and his love of all things DOG and Dog Sledding we went for sled rides. All of his dogs are rescues and it was wonderful to watch them work. Check the *extra...'Big Dog' says that his dogs are fed throughout the day. We were invited to watch their last feeding. Made me just a tiny bit homesick for our pups at home. Tomorrow we head out in the Rover to search for Polar Bears! Stay tuned.
